Hello!
I'm Karla Rimaitis, and I'm delighted to share my journey as an artist, educator, and community advocate with you.
My early passion for art led me to pursue a Diploma in Art and Design, followed by a BA (Hons) Fine Art Degree. Eager to deepen my understanding of teaching methodologies, I also completed a Masters in Education. These academic pursuits have equipped me with skills in change management, coaching, teaching, mentoring, and event facilitation.
Throughout my career, I've been dedicated to capturing complex themes and fostering core skills in students through innovative design and approaches. My extensive experience includes collaborations with Health and Social Care partners, where I utilise sketchnoting and daily illustration to simplify and communicate intricate concepts effectively.
Community engagement is at the heart of my work.
I’ve always embraced what I call a dual portfolio career—on one hand, I work closely with large public sector organisations and charities such as the NHS, Diabetes UK, and Bolton Council, using illustration and creative communication to support learning, wellbeing, and transformation across complex systems. On the other hand, I’m just as passionate about making art accessible within my own community. Whether it’s running inclusive art sessions or hosting creative events that bring people together. I help organisations of all sizes - From helping hundreds of NHS staff through 'art and well being' sessions to leading smaller amazing groups like The Amputation Foundation with a peer support art group. I’m driven by the belief that engaging with art can boost confidence, improve mental health, and foster meaningful connections. Balancing both these worlds keeps my work grounded, relevant, and always focused on making a difference.
If you're interested in collaborating or learning more about my work, please feel free to explore my portfolio and get in touch. Together, we can create meaningful and engaging experiences through art.
